GoPro Hero 4 vs iPhone 6 vs TLC200Pro vs Sony DG Time lapse comparison

If you’re the proud owner of a new GoPro Hero 4 , or any of the other GoPro Hero spots cameras, you have the power to create amazing time-lapse videos. However, getting great results can be tricky, which is why we’ve penned this guide to show you how.

  • Select the shutter speed relative to what you’re shooting i.e. sunrise/sunset happens slowly so a shot every 30 seconds would work, whereas a surfer on a wave moves much quicker so one every two seconds will capture the action well.
  • Work out how long you want your movie to run for and how fast of the playback  i.e. how many photos you’ll need i.e. 250 photos lasts 10 seconds at 25 fps (frames per seconds)
  • Take into account the standard GoPro battery only lasts between one to three hours depending on the model( and make sure TURN OFF the WiFi), you could add the extra battery pack or externally power it for longer sequences. But it could be hard to stay dry, since no waterproof between the junktions.

If you prefer something handy, iPhone 6 seems to be the one. The tips for iPhone time lapse,Say you shoot a 10 minute time-lapse — the camera will shoot 2 frames every second and then combine them. The playback speed will be 15 times the actual speed. Clips between 10 and 20 minutes will have 1 frame per second captured, and playback speed will be double — 30x. For clips from 20 to 40 minutes, your iPhone will snap 1 frame every 2 seconds, and play the footage back at 60 times the normal speed. And so on, and so forth. In other words, every doubling of the capture length beyond 10 minutes means twice less frames shot per second, condensed over twice the speed. And the bottom line is you may not be able to answer any phone calls and staying social networked during the shooting period.
